HB 1175 To Be Voted on Wednesday 4/22/09
Hello Everyone,
I want to thank each and every one of you for coming to the State Capitol today to show solidarity in opposition to HB-1175. We had a great turn-out and we were clearly superior in our testimony. I feel the Senators have a great understanding of the issues and concerns regarding this bill and feel confident that they will vote the bill down. Unfortunately, at the request of the bill sponsor, the vote is being delayed until next Wednesday, 4/22. I will let you know of the outcome as soon as we hear the vote. Out of respect for the Senate HHS Chair, Betty Boyd, we are asking that if you have already contacted the committee via e-mail, fax or phone, please do not contact them again. (They received over 14,000 e-mails plus faxes and phone calls. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!) If you have not had an opportunity to voice your concern and ask them to vote "NO", then please let them know that this is your first contact with them on this bill and go ahead and send your opposition letter.
